My time in Uganda was tough, fun and emotional, but above all joyful. I still have the smile lines suntanned into my face. On the Saturday we visited Kirmobe Slum, where a lot of participants in the Uganda programme live. I was humbled and my face hurt from smiling with so many children.
Sunday we went to church, and were welcomed by the pastor who announced us to the congregation. One by one, members of the congregation welcomed us, shook hands and hugged us. They knew why we were there and we so very lovely to us. So lovely, in fact, we ended up joining in what I can only describe as a rave. Imagine going to a fantastic concert, but being part of the main act. What an amazing experience. Sunday was a big deal in the community anyway, as a mother had just given birth to twins. She was treated like a local celebrity and it was a joy to behold.
